Kirsi Solehmainen, product manager at UNION Architectural Hardware, said: "Achieving Kitemark status is a great success for this range of cylinders. We are constantly developing new products and its very important that we test our products to the most stringent standards. We hope the keySHIELD range, made in our Willenhall factory, will establish itself as the benchmark for high security cylinder locks.
"Typically, six-pin cylinders are significantly more secure than fivepin models. In fact, keySHIELD uses GUARDpin technology to ensure bump resistance and has been tested to BS 3621:2007 within the UNION BS mortice lock assemblies (212441E/222441E). Each cylinder also benefits from drill and pick resistance and, when used with the appropriate security escutcheon, is resistant to attack from both snapping and chisel and twist."
KeySHIELD cylinders can be supplied individually keyed, keyed alike, or for small master key suites. The cylinders come in a variety of sizes and a selection of thumb turns are available including a large turn for compatibility with the Disability Discrimination Act. KeySHIELD has also been assessed under EN 16341 as suitable for use in 60 minute fire doors. |
